Buyer - Raw Materials

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Raw Material Buyer to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services, ensuring optimal supply chain efficiency. This role requires an understanding of MRP systems and negotiation skills to support the organisation’s operational needs. The Buyer will play a key part in maintaining supplier relationships and ensuring the timely delivery of quality materials essential for our production processes.

• Manage procurement activities using MRP systems to ensure accurate order processing and inventory management.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate prices, terms, and contracts to secure the best value for the organisation.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain Team to ensure timely delivery of materials whilst optimising supply chain operations.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as commercial and production to understand material requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance and develop strategic partnerships to improve quality, cost-efficiency, and reliability.

• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
• Strong familiarity with MRP systems.
• Demonstrable negotiation skills with a track record of securing favourable terms with suppliers.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Full-time

£30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year (dependent on experience)
