Are you a dedicated Primary Teacher passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you excel at creating inclusive, sensory‑friendly classrooms where every child feels safe to explore and learn? This role offers a rewarding position within a supportive and collaborative SEN school in Thetford.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a Primary SEN classroom, delivering high‑quality, differentiated lessons across the curriculum.
- Tailor teaching methods to meet the sensory, communication, and emotional needs of each child.
- Monitor, assess, and record student progress against individual EHCP targets and small‑step learning goals.
- Manage and mentor a team of Teaching Assistants to provide a cohesive and nurturing support system for all pupils.
- Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and multi‑agency professionals to ensure a holistic approach to child development.
- Create a stimulating learning environment that promotes independence, play‑based learning, and social interaction.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Experience teaching at the Primary level (EYFS, KS1, or KS2) within an SEN or inclusive mainstream setting.
- Strong understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and experience working with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Proficiency in using adaptive communication tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton, visual timetables).
- Excellent classroom management skills with a gentle, patient, and positive approach.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
