Science Teacher – Grass Roots Academic Support

Grass Roots Academic Support are seeking a skilled and dedicated Science Teacher to work within an SEMH school in the Thetford area.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality science lessons across Key Stages 3 to 4. You will be responsible for maintaining excellent standards of teaching and learning, supporting pupil progress, and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will also provide calm, consistent support to pupils with autism and other complex needs, helping to create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Mark and assess student work, providing clear feedback to support progress.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
• Model respectful, inclusive behaviour and contribute to a classroom culture where every student feels valued, heard, and respected.

• A supportive school for students aged who are currently unable to access mainstream education due to challenging behaviour, ASC, or other complex needs.
• A school that creates safe and nurturing environments for students with special educational needs, valuing diversity and supporting young people to thrive.
• Offers a broad, balanced, and personalised curriculum, taught by experienced subject specialists in small, structured environments.

To be considered for the role of SEMH Teacher, you will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Have excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Hold a valid DBS certificate on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).

MPS salary.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, and qualifications. The minimum requirements for this position are:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Excellent daily rates paid weekly through PAYE.
• Guaranteed pay scheme (subject to availability and qualifying criteria).
