Project and Improvement Engineer; Mechanical

Role Overview

Projects & Improvements Engineer (Mechanical Bias) – Project Engineering Team at Baxter Thetford. Provide technical expertise within the team, managing change related to existing equipment, new equipment introduction, and new project implementation within the plant.

• Manage equipment change and new equipment projects to the highest standard of capital management, schedule compliance, and system handover criteria.
• Provide technical expertise on key engineering projects and process improvement projects, including feasibility, design and delivery of solutions.
• Develop technical specifications focused on mechanical design.
• Apply management of change best practices for site equipment.
• Support handover process into production and manage punch list items, including spares management and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Travel to FATs as required.
• Comply with EHS Guidelines and identify areas for improvement across the site.

• HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills and experienced teamwork, highly self‑motivated.
• High competency in mechanical and electrical fault‑finding.
• Experience with automation and robotics, schematics, wiring and circuitry.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced environment.

Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs per week, with flexibility to suit business needs. This may include early mornings, evenings and weekends periodically.
