Role OverviewBaxter Thetford has a fantastic opportunity for a Projects & Improvements Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to join our Project Engineering Team. Acting as a technical expert within the team, you will be responsible for the management of change related to existing equipment, new equipment introduction, and new project implementation within the plant. Usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hrs per week, with flexibility in working hours to suit business needs.
This role may include early mornings, evenings and weekends periodically to support the plant.
- Manage equipment change and new equipment projects to the highest standard of capital management, schedule compliance and system handover criteria.
- Provide technical expertise on key engineering projects and process improvement projects, including feasibility, design and delivery of solutions.
- Develop technical specifications focused on mechanical design.
- Implement change best practices for site equipment.
- Support the handover process into production and manage punch list items, including spares management and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Travel to FATs is essential.
- Comply with EHS Guidelines.
- Identify areas for improvement across the site.
- HNC in Mechanical / Electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills, experienced team work, and highly self‑motivated.
- High degree of competency in mechanical and electrical fault finding.
- Experience with automation and robotics, schematics wiring and circuitry.
- Good experience working in a fast‑paced environment.
