Laser Machine Operator

laser machine operator - thetford - permanent full time - hourly rate depending on experience but from £13 per hour - monday to thursday 8am-4.30pm and friday's 8am to 3.30pm (30 min lunch 12.30pm to 1pm)

our client is a well-established steel cutting and fabrication organisation based in thetford. Our services include rolling, forming, plough grinding, and plasma, flame, water jet, and laser cutting.

they are currently seeking an experienced laser machine operator to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis.

• load materials onto a bodor laser machine and operate using programs provided by the production team
• adjust machine software settings to achieve optimal cutting results
• work accurately from works tickets and technical instructions
• conduct rigorous size checks on finished parts using micrometers
• inspect and approve finished goods before sorting and preparing for dispatch
• work independently with minimal supervision
• carry out daily and monthly machine maintenance checks

• previous laser machine operating experience is essential
• strong attention to detail and quality control
• ability to read and follow technical instructions
• competent in using measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers)
• self‑motivated and able to work independently

• monday to thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
• friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm
• 30‑minute lunch break each day 12:30pm – 1:00pm

• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
