We are now looking for a Bank Assistant Chef to support our kitchen team at Thimbleby Court, helping deliver nutritious, high-quality meals that meet individual dietary needs and reflect our commitment to excellence in care.

• Work alongside the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to support the preparation and delivery of fresh, wholesome meals for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Provide cover as required in a flexible role within a care environment.
• Support the Head Chef with food preparation and service.
• Assist with negotiating and securing best value for food purchases while working within budget.
• Prepare healthy, balanced, and nutritious meals using a home-cooked approach.
• Ensure food is prepared, cooked, and stored in a hygienic environment at all times.
• Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Implement systems to control food portions and reduce waste.
• Ensure all kitchen staff adhere to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of food safety, COSHH, HACCP, and allergen management.
• Support a positive dining experience that reflects Glenholme’s values and standards of care.

• Previous experience working as a Cook or Chef
• A sound knowledge of COSHH
• A sound knowledge of HACCP
• Environmental Health Standards and Regulations
• Safer Food Better Business
• Food allergies and dietary requirements
• Excellent timekeeping skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work flexibly as part of a team
• This role requires an Enhanced DBS check
