The company overview:

Our client is an established Essex-based surface restoration and resurfacing company with over 30 years of experience, working alongside some of the UK's leading house builders and developers including Cala Homes, Berkeley Homes and Countryside. Due to continued growth, they are looking to bring an experienced Accounts Clerk on board to support their finance and administration function.

Role overview:

As Accounts Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the business. You'll be working closely with the management team, site teams, suppliers and clients, making this a varied and hands-on position.

Financial Responsibilities:

* Entering financial data into spreadsheets and accounting software (Xero)

* Raising sales invoices for completed works

* Preparing applications for payment and interim valuations

* Chasing outstanding debts and managing credit control

* Matching supplier invoices to purchase orders and Site Instructions

* Resolving invoice queries with clients

* Supporting month-end procedures

Administrative Responsibilities:

* Processing, collecting and compiling weekly timesheets

* Collecting and processing subcontractor invoices

* Filing subcontractor CIS returns

* Handling email correspondence and preparing documentation

* Managing filing systems and document control

* Recording and monitoring expenses

* Liaising with suppliers, clients and site teams

What We're Looking For

* Proficient in Xero or similar accounting software

* Good understanding of CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) regulations — essential

* Strong attention to detail and accuracy

* Able to manage high volumes of invoices and meet deadlines

* Strong communication and organisational skills

* Able to work independently and as part of a team
