DescriptionPriory Lily Close is looking to recruit a Maintenance Assistant to join the team. This is a part time 20 hours role.
Lily Close is located in Rainham, Essex. It offers residential support for nine males and females with a primary learning disability diagnosis. We are located within a gated community, off a main road.
Our team are dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the people we support, providing them with the skills needed for them to live a healthier and happier life back in the community.
We can also support autistic people and those who have:
- Difficulties with communication
- Mild to moderate behaviours that challenge
- Physical disabilities
- Epilepsy
You will be joining a dedicated and compassionate team, all working collaboratively to ensure the service runs smoothly and that our residents feel safe, comfortable, and supported. While this role does not involve providing direct care, it is essential to the overall wellbeing of our residents. By supporting day-to-day operations, keeping the environment organised, and ensuring our facilities are well maintained, you will help create a welcoming and positive space for everyone who lives and works here.
The successful applicant must hold a full driving licence, as driving is a requirement of this role.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a safe, well-presented, and comfortable environment across the site, in line with quality standards and statutory regulations.
- Deliver Priory minimum standards in all site areas efficiently and in a timely manner, working collaboratively as part of the wider team.
- Identify, report, and assist in resolving damage, faults, or maintenance issues in consultation with the Maintenance Manager to ensure ongoing compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
- Carry out general maintenance tasks in accordance with the General Property Maintenance Guide and responsibilities outlined in the role appendix.

The ideal candidate will have basic numeracy and literacy skills, be detail-oriented, and able to prioritise tasks effectively. They should demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision, possess a strong customer-focused attitude, and show a commitment to teamwork. Experience and understanding in a building, plumbing, mechanical, or electrical discipline is desirable.
