Cover Supervisor

Academics are currently looking for cover supervisors to work in schools within the Leeds area. Cover supervisors play a vital role within schools and are required to carry out pre‑planned lessons for teacher absences. The role of a cover supervisor is a great step for those who are aspiring to be teachers as well as recent graduates who are looking to gain classroom experience.

• Creating a positive learning environment for the students and helping them develop with their academic studies
• Supervising students’ behaviour and referring to the school’s behaviour management policy if required
• Displaying subject knowledge to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Following the school’s safeguarding policies, ensuring a safe environment for the students

• Flexibility to cover multiple subjects and to correspond with any last‑minute requirements
• Excellent communication skills with a passion for making an impact on students’ lives
• Previous experience preferred, but not essential
• A university degree
• An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply to one
