SEMH Support Assistant – Primary & Secondary Schools

Pay: £89.05 – £110 per day

School hours (typically 08:30 – 15:30)

Do you have a passion for supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs? Whether you’re experienced in education or ready to start a rewarding new career, this role gives you the chance to make a real impact in the classroom.

We’re seeking caring and dependable SEMH Support Assistants to work in primary and secondary schools across Horsham and nearby areas. You’ll provide tailored support to pupils who need extra help—working one-to-one, assisting small groups, and helping create a calm, inclusive learning environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Supporting pupils with SEMH and additional needs in both learning and wellbeing
Encouraging focus, confidence, and engagement throughout the school day
Assisting teachers with lessons, routines, and classroom activities
Creating a safe, positive space where every child feels valued
Adapting to different schools, age groups, and individual needs

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, etc.)
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Confidence to work across different school settings
A genuine passion for helping children reach their potential
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
