Aspiring Educational Psychologist – SEMH Teaching Assistant

Kempston, Bedfordshire

Full-Time | Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Academics is offering a fantastic opportunity to work for an Aspiring Educational Psychologist at a specialist SEN school in Kempston. This role is ideal for graduates seeking to build a strong foundation in the education and training sector while supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

About the Role – SEMH Teaching Assistant
  • Work within small, ability-based classes (typically 6–8 students)
  • Support students aged 4–19 with a range of SEMH and autism‑related needs
  • Collaborate closely with therapists, SEN specialists, and mental health professionals
  • Deliver targeted interventions to help pupils overcome academic and emotional barriers
  • Provide consistent, nurturing support as a trusted role model
What We’re Looking For
  • A graduate in Psychology or Criminology (or similar field)
  • Genuine passion for working with young people and supporting mental health
  • Interest in a long‑term career in educational psychology, mental health, or SEN support
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Ability to commute daily to Kempston
