An exceptional opportunity has become available for two SEN Care Worker’s to join a dedicated team within a specialist SEN school in the Billingshurst area. This role involves providing 1:1 care and support for students with cerebral palsy, helping them access learning and daily routines in a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment.
One position involves working with students of primary and secondary school age, while the other is based at the college site, supporting post-16 learners.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personal care and one-to-one support for students with physical and complex needs.
- Assist with mobility, feeding, toileting, and positioning (training can be provided).
- Support students during lessons and transitions to promote inclusion and engagement.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and healthcare staff to ensure consistency in care.
- Maintain a calm, respectful, and student-centred approach at all times.
- Background in care, support work, or healthcare assistance (experience with physical disabilities is a plus).
- Confident delivering personal care and supporting physical needs.
- Empathetic, patient, and able to build strong, trusting relationships.
- Comfortable working in a school setting and committed to safeguarding.
- Team player with a proactive, flexible attitude.
- Ability to work well independently and as a team.
- Has a passion to support and empower children and young people.
- A DBS on the Updates Service or willing to obtain one.
- Commitment to safeguarding students and young people.
