Main

Objectives

The Test Technician ensures that all power supply units meet rigorous safety and performance standards within our manufacturing environment. This role is essential for delivering high‑quality, tested products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execution of testing of high voltage power supplies to specification requirements.
  • Completion of test reports and documentation in accordance with customer requirements and in line with the Quality Management System standards.
  • Provide hands‑on support for manufacturing activities as needed, including basic mechanical assembly, component installation and general production assistance.
  • Upgrading and modification of assemblies and finished products.
  • Interpretation and implementation of changes to assemblies and finished product in accordance with documentation.
  • Identifying product quality and performance issues and raising appropriate non‑conformances.
  • Liaising with Design Engineering, Test Equipment Design and Sales in support of meeting customer requirements and finished product quality and performance.
  • Keep informed and support the Company’s ISO
    14001 Environmental Management System and ISO
    9001 Quality Management System and improvement team activities, including seeking new ‘green’ opportunities and suggestions on how the business can improve.
  • Responsibility for adhering to the Company’s ISO 9001 Quality, ISO
    14001 Environmental and Health and Safety management systems.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Ability to test the product by following test procedures accurately and meeting standard times.
  • Ability to use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, digital power supplies and multimeters.
  • Knowledge and experience in high voltage test methods.
  • Experience in soldering and rework methods to IPC standards.
  • Experience working in a lean manufacturing facility.
  • Competent in MS Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Working Conditions
  • The role includes the use of PPE where appropriate (e.g. safety shoes, eyewear, gloves).
  • Fine control required for assembly, soldering and the use of hand tools.
  • Ability to visually inspect small components and read technical drawings and digital displays.
  • Regular lifting and movement of materials up to 30kg (with use of mechanical aids where applicable) in accordance with risk assessments and safe working practices.
  • Occasional lifting and movement of equipment or materials up to 800kg with the use of mechanical aids, in accordance with risk assessment and safe working practices.
