Description
We’re looking for aSenior UX Designer to help shape the end-to-end experience across Benchmark’s digital products, spanning desktop, tablet and mobile. You’ll take the lead on UX/UI design for new features, improve and evolve our design system, and work closely with product, research, service design and engineering to deliver journeys that are simple, accessible and genuinely useful.
This is a hands‑on role for someone who loves solving real customer problems, can confidently turn insight into great design, and enjoys working at pace in an agile environment. You’ll also help us keep raising the bar for design quality across the business.
- Design intuitive, accessible user experiences for new features across web and mobile.
- Create user flows, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes and high‑fidelity UI.
- Help evolve our design system and UX/UI assets to improve consistency and scale across products.
- Explore how agentic AI can support better collaboration, faster delivery and stronger experience outcomes.
- Work closely with user researchers to plan and run research, then bring the insights into your design work.
- Combine qualitative and quantitative inputs to shape clear design decisions and prioritise what matters.
- Partner with product owners, developers and stakeholders to make sure designs meet customer needs, business goals and delivery readiness standards.
- Support agile delivery teams through sprints — staying involved to protect design intent and ensure quality in build.
- Champion strong UX standards, accessibility best practice and consistent UI patterns.
- Use feedback, data and research to iterate and improve live experiences over time.
- 8+ years’ experience in UX and/or product design (ideally across SaaS, web, mobile and responsive products).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating complex journeys, interactions and UI patterns.
- Confident using modern design tools — especially Figma.
- Experience building and maintaining design systems.
- Solid grounding in user‑centred design methods (e.g., Design Thinking) and accessibility best practice.
- Comfortable working in agile teams alongside product and engineering.
- Strong stakeholder skills — able to run workshops, align people, and explain decisions clearly using evidence.
- Degree in Design, HCI or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Financial services experience is helpful, but not essential.
You'll be based at the Benchmark Head Office, within our Broadlands Business Campus near Horsham in West Sussex but will need to be present across our other offices, including the main Schroders headquarters in London. It has high standards and international reputation, without being in the city: a big, countryside campus means life will feel a little different.
We support our offices by using cutting edge software and hardware and our spacious campus facilities mean there's a great working environment for the team. With an on‑site restaurant, coffee shop and gym, our campus has much to offer. And commuters can relax on our dedicated regular shuttle bus to and from Horsham’s main line train station.
We know that diverse perspectives and an inclusive culture where all can succeed lead to better decisions and stronger outcomes for the company its clients and its employees. That’s why inclusion and diversity are strategic priorities for us. We’re proud to be an equal opportunities employer. You’re welcome at Benchmark regardless of your age, disability, gender identity or expression, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or socio‑economic background.
We’re building a workplace where everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered to thrive.
