Website and Content Developing Volunteer

Join us in the role of Website and Content Developing Volunteer  are looking for a proactive and technically skilled volunteer to help maintain and develop our online presence.

SEDSConnective is a pioneering, volunteer‑led charity that supports individuals with symptomatic hypermobility (such as Ehlers‑Danlos Syndromes and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders) and neurodivergent conditions (including Autism, ADHD, Dyspraxia, Tourette’s Syndrome, Dyslexia and more). Founded in 2018 by Jane Green MBE, SEDSConnective began as a grassroots effort in Sussex, UK and has grown into a global community offering support, advocacy and education to thousands of members worldwide.

• Raise awareness of the link between hypermobility and neurodivergence.
• Improve outcomes for those affected.
• Provide support for individuals, families, carers and professionals.

Experience with Wix is essential, including intermediate‑level proficiency in JavaScript and SQL and particular experience using the Wix JavaScript library (Velo). A passion for our vision is always a bonus.

• Website Maintenance: regularly update website content, ensuring information is accurate and current; monitor website functionality, fix issues, and maintain a seamless user experience.
• Manage updates to plugins, themes and other website tools for optimal performance.
• Content Development: work with the team to publish new blog posts, events and resources; ensure website aligns with branding and effectively communicates SEDSConnective’s vision and goals; optimise content for accessibility, usability and SEO.
• Technical Oversight: oversee the website’s technical aspects, focusing on JavaScript and SQL development within the Wix (Velo) environment; ensure security and compliance with data protection regulations.
• Troubleshoot bugs or glitches, liaise with external support when necessary, and propose and implement improvements to boost functionality and engagement.
• Collaboration:
  
  work closely with trustees, volunteers and external partners to support campaigns, events and fundraising initiatives; provide feedback and recommendations to the Board on potential website enhancements.

This volunteer role ensures that the SEDSConnective website is accessible, engaging and aligned with the charity’s mission and goals. The Website Officer will work closely with the Chair and other team members to ensure the site remains functional, user‑friendly and continuously improved to serve our vibrant community.

We expect volunteers to communicate ideally by Whats App in a reliable fashion and commit to a minimum of nine months with the team.
