Detego Global is seeking a motivated and technically curious Junior Dev Ops Engineer to join our engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a software development background who is eager to build expertise in Dev Ops practices, CI/CD automation, and cloud infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of software development, CI/CD processes, and cloud technologies, along with a passion for automation and building reliable software delivery pipelines. You will work alongside experienced engineers to support the delivery of the Detego platform while developing your skills in a real-world, security-focused environment.

This role offers structured mentorship and a clear pathway for professional growth into a full Dev Ops position. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach are essential.

Based in a hybrid environment, with three days per week in our Horsham office, this role provides the opportunity to work on technically challenging and impactful projects supporting mission-critical software used by law enforcement and intelligence agencies worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using Git and Bitbucket Pipelines.
  • Support development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
  • Contribute to build systems and strategies that improve productivity and efficiency across the engineering function.
  • Help automate infrastructure provisioning and management using tools such as Docker, AWS, and Azure.
  • Write and maintain Power Shell scripts for automation and configuration management tasks.
  • Assist with monitoring and troubleshooting application performance and infrastructure issues.
  • Support adherence to security and compliance best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging Dev Ops technologies, applying learning to continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Some hands‑on experience in software development, with a basic understanding of build systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with C# and/or .NET development.
  • Working knowledge of Git for source control, with exposure to Bitbucket Pipelines considered advantageous.
  • Basic familiarity with Power Shell or another scripting language.
  • Awareness of containerisation technologies such as Docker.
  • Some exposure to cloud platforms, including AWS or Azure.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills with a collaborative, team‑first approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Academic or vocational qualifications in computer science, software engineering or a related discipline.
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools or platforms such as Git Hub Actions, Jenkins or Azure Dev Ops.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in sprint‑based teams.
  • Basic understanding of Release and Deployment Management life cycles and CI/CD methodologies.
  • Awareness of web‑based front‑end applications and server‑side deployments.
  • Experience with cross‑platform development or resolving integration issues.
  • Interest in security‑focused software and digital forensics tooling.
