PRN Medical Assistant – Marathon Health

The Role
The Medical Assistant is a vital component of our care team, working closely with a primary care physician to deliver excellent patient care and create an exceptional guest experience. You will perform both front‑desk responsibilities and clinical duties, overseeing the full patient experience.
Responsibilities- Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked.
- Review prior medical information and gather updated health information from patients to inform providers.
- Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures, and coordinate with contracted labs for additional tests.
- Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations via oral, topical, inhaled, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal routes per provider orders.
- Partner with care team members to develop individualized patient plans of care, identifying and addressing gaps.
- Perform front‑desk duties: patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinate specialist visits, referrals, and other out‑of‑clinic care, check‑in, check‑out, etc.
- Record accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines.
- Process test results and provide patients with timely results via e‑message, mail, or phone as directed by provider instructions.
- Participate in outreach to patients to drive engagement among eligible patient groups.
- Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatments.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in primary care.
- Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or related program.
- National or state‑specific MA certification or registration strongly preferred; required in states where certification/regulation is mandated.
- CPR/BLS certification required at the start date.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
