Job DescriptionEurofins Environmental Testing Philadelphia is a full‑service environmental laboratory that has provided analytical chemistry and microbiological services to a diverse range of clients since 1943. The analytical product array is focused on providing testing services that enable clients to meet their regulatory and monitoring requirements. Analytical data is produced within a quality system framework that provides clients with an accurate and representative portrayal of a sample’s constituents, empowering informed, confident decisions regarding regulatory compliance.
We are searching for a Field Technician located in the Horsham, PA region.
Schedule:
Mon‑Fri 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (±). Compensation range: $17‑20 /hour based on field experience. Full benefits. The position is not desk‑bound and will involve driving the company vehicle for a 100+ mile radius each day. A valid driver’s license is required.
- Collect field samples in the assigned area from assigned clients.
- Plan and complete the daily route in accordance with priorities and notify the supervisor of any changes.
- Prepare and deliver sample containers and materials to various clients to support their account.
- Transport, set up, utilize, troubleshoot, and break down sample collection/monitoring equipment.
- Communicate directly with customers to provide clear and accurate information regarding their sample collection timeline and access requirements.
- Send routine updates on timeline and sample/project status to the supervisor and laboratory.
- Perform miscellaneous on‑site testing when required, record all data, and submit required sample documents.
- Transport samples from the field back to the laboratory, maintaining accurate sample custody documentation and occasionally coordinating with other technicians.
- Drive safely, observe all traffic laws, and maintain the assigned vehicle according to cleanliness and maintenance expectations.
- Observe all OSHA safety requirements, avoiding confined space entry without direct approval.
- Maintain documentation/records related to field sampling activity and logbooks ethically and accurately.
- Work the assigned shift/hours, maintaining flexibility for overtime, weekends, and holidays when requested.
- Working knowledge of monitoring well equipment including ready‑flow pumps, peristaltic pumps, and proactive pumps.
- Ability to navigate using vehicle GPS, road maps, and written directions.
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills; experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, customer‑service oriented.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods and lift a 25‑pound object up to five feet high.
- Strong time‑management skills; adaptable to shifting priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with limited supervision, maintaining a positive, self‑motivated mindset.
- Detail oriented, able to learn new techniques, multi‑task, and follow instructions while complying with SOPs.
- Experience with technical field equipment such as field measurement meters, well pumps, auto‑samplers, and tablets/software programs.
- 2‑4 years’ experience in environmental and monitoring well sampling (preferred, training provided).
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, or earth sciences preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; samples may be in coolers packed with ice.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
