Key Responsibilities- Review rough sketches, drawings, and other engineering data received from Civil Engineer, Engineer Intern, or Project Manager.
- Convert field survey data into topographic survey drawings and 3‑D models suitable for producing construction drawings and construction layout data.
- Create detailed construction drawings of proposed improvements such as roads, bridges, drainage systems, water & sewer facilities, and land development projects.
- Prepare 2‑D and 3‑D construction layout data suitable for staking by field surveyors or use in GPS‑controlled construction equipment.
- Maintain proficiency in automated design programs, provide assistance to other professional staff, and operate production equipment.
- Work closely with the Civil Engineer, Engineer Intern, Project Manager, support staff, and other team members to produce construction drawings and layout data.
- Convert survey data to plats, topographic plans, and other plans, models and profiles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience – Associate’s degree (A.
A.) or equivalent from two‑year college or technical school; or two to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – None.
Language Skills – Ability to read, interpret, and write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Skills – Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and averages.
Reasoning Ability – Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills – Proficiency in design software;
Internet software;
Project Management software;
Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Other Qualifications – Must have a valid driver’s license.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described are representative of what is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, including sitting, use of hands, reaching, talking or hearing, standing and walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, and specific vision abilities.
Work EnvironmentTypical office setting with temperature control; occasional deliveries or errands in all weather conditions; moderate noise level.
