Painter

II - 17926 Description
  • Preps and coats the surface of parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective or decorative materials such as paint, varnish, enamel, lacquer, dope, or stain using spray gun.
  • Selects and mixes coating material; coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer using brush or roller.
  • Follow directions and / or instructions, as directed.
  • Familiar with Internal Customer Interfaces, as defined by the process assigned.
  • Process forms and document work by utilizing their endorsement, in accordance with the Quality Management System.
  • Notify immediate supervisor of any suspected un-airworthy condition noted while performing their duties.
  • Acquire and maintain hand tools, if necessary, to complete work assigned.
  • Clean, disassemble and identify components, with normal supervision.
  • Have a good understanding of blueprints, technical manuals, and planning documents with normal supervision.
  • Apply different type’s conversion coatings and sealants using different tools and methods with normal supervision.
  • Work in conjunction with higher grade Mechanics to further their job knowledge base through OJT with normal supervision.
  • Clean work area, when required with minimal supervision.
  • Read and understand blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Accomplish basic repairs with normal supervision.
  • Have a basic understanding of computer processes involved in daily operations.
  • Other various duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Ability to learn and understand and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • 3-5 years prior aircraft component paint experience
