Seasonal Engineering Equipment Operator

Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to operate gasoline or diesel-powered engineering and construction heavy equipment, including graders, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders and heavy trucks. The incumbent must hold and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.

Hot Springs, AR

Full‑time, seasonal (May‑Nov, variable). Work may include evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime.

• $25.42 to $29.66 per hour

• Operate graders, bulldozers, backhoes, wheel loaders, trench diggers, and heavy diesel-powered construction equipment.
• Grading roads, laying and compacting surfacing materials, excavating and repairing road sub‑grade, installing culverts and septic systems.
• Assist railroad workers and operate flanged wheeled equipment for excavation along railways.
• Perform preventative maintenance, repair and general upkeep of heavy equipment and trucks.
• Maintain safety standards, follow prescribed procedures and work in confined areas and uneven terrain.

• Ability to operate heavy equipment without more than normal supervision.
• Ability to drive safely and operate motor vehicles.
• Proficiency in interpreting instructions and specifications related to mobile equipment operation.
• Reliability and dependability as an equipment operator.
• Ability to perform work required of the Engineering Equipment Operator assignment (WG‑5716‑08).
• Current Class B (or higher) Commercial Driver’s License.
• U.S. Citizenship required; background investigation subject to favorable adjudication.
• Male applicants must comply with Selective Service registration.
