Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 5:00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Fridays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

The Person nel to preferably have the following qualifications and experience:

• Preferably 3 years of working experience in an educational institution providing Science laboratory assistance.
• A minimum of GCE O-Level qualification with a pass in at least one Science subject, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Candidates with a qualification in a Science or Science-related field is preferred.
• Able to work independently as a Science laboratory assistant, preferably in an educational institution, demonstrating proficiency in laboratory equipment handling, safety procedures, inventory management, and basic IT skills for record-keeping.

The Services required are set out as follows:

The Science Laboratory Assistant supports the effective implementation of the school's Science curriculum by ensuring that laboratory facilities, equipment, materials and resources are safe, well-maintained and readily available for teaching and learning.

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Science laboratories and preparation room.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe laboratory environment.

• Prepare, set up and clear equipment, apparatus, specimens and materials for practical lessons, demonstrations and experiments.
• Work closely with the HOD/Science and teachers to prepare resources for curriculum lessons, enrichment programmes and ad hoc Science activities.
• Provide support during practical lessons where required.

• Maintain laboratory equipment, apparatus, models and teaching resources in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate inventory, stock, usage and breakage records.
• Conduct annual stocktaking and recommend the purchase or replacement of equipment and consumables.
• Support the procurement of Science apparatus, equipment and consumables by monitoring stock levels, preparing purchase requests, obtaining quotations where required, verifying deliveries and updating inventory records.
• Report faulty or damaged equipment promptly。

• Ensure the safe storage, handling and proper record-keeping of chemicals.
• Maintain laboratory safety equipment and report safety hazards immediately.
• Uphold safe laboratory practices and comply with school safety procedures。

• Manage the distribution and collection of Science teaching and learning resources, including teachers' desk copies.
• Support Science-related programmes such as E2K, Green Club, STEM activities and other departmental initiatives.
• Perform other laboratory-related duties assigned by the HOD/Science or School Leaders。
