1:1 SEN Tutor - Key Stage 2,3 & 4 | Houghton le Spring

At Prospero Teaching, we partner with SEND Services, Local Authorities and education providers to help students with specific needs or who are not currently accessing mainstream education to access bespoke 1‑1 tutoring.

In the Houghton le Spring area, we are seeking specialised tutors for students from KS2‑KS4 with wide ranging special educational needs, specifically for English and Maths tuition.

As a SEN Tutor, you will work with students with ASD, ADHD or a range of SEN and SEMH needs, with the aim of re‑engaging these students in their education, building confidence and helping them make clear and measurable progress. Sessions can be face‑to‑face or online and may take place in the student’s home or a local community hub.

• Pay: up to £30 per hour (DOE)

• Plan and deliver engaging 1‑1 lessons tailored to individual needs
• Support students’ academic and emotional development
• Track progress and provide feedback to parents and professionals
• Complete basic attendance and progress reports

• Experience teaching or tutoring SEN learners (KS2 or KS4)
• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
• Two years of verifiable references
