Audit Senior Associate - Houma, LA

Mauldin & Jenkins, LLC is seeking a Senior Associate for its Audit Practice. We are a Top 100 CPA firm and have been a continuous entity since 1918.

• Accurately and skillfully perform audits for private and closely‑held companies
• Manage multiple client engagements
• Ensure all engagements are complete and ready for Manager or Partner review within the established time frame and budget, in accordance with M&A’s quality control policies
• Manage a team of two to five employees
• Effectively communicate the accuracy of financial statements and other financial information to clients
• Continuously foster relationships with coworkers and clients
• Travel to client sites as required
• Develop presentation skills necessary to confidently present at audit committee meetings, industry or trade association events, office events, etc.
• Act as a change agent; set an example by accepting change and proactively supporting it (e.g., change in audit tools, different audit approach at the client, etc.)
• Participate in practice/location activities to help grow M&A (e.g., recruiting, firm training sessions, etc.)
• Develop interns and staff by delegating and training them to be successful in their careers
• Provide constructive formal and informal feedback in a timely manner to all levels
• Serve as a mentor to an intern and/or staff member
• Perform additional tasks as needed

• Maintain a positive attitude that is reflected in work and evident to others; motivate others
• Exhibit professionalism while in the office and at client sites
• Possess solid interpersonal and communication skills
• Manage multiple audit client engagements throughout the year
• Be willing and able to travel
• Market the firm and its services effectively
• Be able to lift up to 25 lb

• B.A./B.S. in Accounting
• Public accounting experience
• Understanding of GAAS and GAAP
