This job provides administrative/clinical support to facilitate the delivery of patient care based on the nursing process. Assists in the monitoring of quality care by ensuring the efficient use of resources.

Required - Registered nurse diploma.

Preferred - Associate s degree in nursing.

Required - 3 years of RN experience.

Preferred - Critical care or charge nurse experience.

Required - Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.

Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Preferred - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and CCRN.

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
• Strong conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to move throughout the department, the hospital, and between off-campus sites.

• Serves as a resource to the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care.
• Rounds frequently throughout the shift identifying issues that need administrative action and communicates forward to the appropriate level.
• Supervises and leads staff effectively.
• Provides care based on physical, psycho-social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned area.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures, obtaining permissions and appropriate communication style.
• Performs other related duties as required.

The physical essential functions of this job include the frequent exertion of 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects and occasional exertion up to 100 pounds. Physical demand requirements exceed those for sedentary work. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Because this role operates in a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste in the environments through various stages of handling and disposal. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on essential job duties.
