American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of specialty experience and a compact or LA RN license.

• Med/Surg Tele unit setting
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
• Works every other weekend
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• No on-call requirements

• Active compact or LA RN license in hand required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and CPI certifications required
• PALS certification preferred due to low pediatric patient population
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management preferred
• NURSYS report required for consideration, updated within 4 weeks of submission
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg Tele environment with cardiac monitoring responsibilities
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team requiring extended facility stay during emergency events
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Orientation held 5 days a week
• Two Manager/Supervisor references required prior to start (Charge RNs not accepted)
• Candidates must reside more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO must be disclosed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission
• Previous permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the health system for 1 full year before returning as travelers
