Summary:

The Foreman position works in conjunction with the Deck Foreman and Superintendent, other foreman and operations representatives during installation, removal, and salvage operations on the derrick barge. This position will provide direct supervision to contract welders, directing the work to ensure safe and efficient completion of projects assigned. The Foreman must observe all safety and security procedures at all times, utilizing all equipment and materials properly.

They also must be prepared and able to exercise Stop Work Authority for any actions that appear unsafe and report any potentially unsafe conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise all welders on shift; assign, oversee, and follow up on performance of work
  • Provide leadership direction and motivation of employees
  • Ensure all required personnel are present in order to complete a job task
  • Be familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Assist the derrick barge with routine inspections and perform welding repairs, when needed
  • Maintain inventory of welding equipment, welding gases, and other welding supplies
  • Assist the Deck Foreman and/or Superintendent as required
  • Establish quality control standards and supervise implementation
  • Keep accurate field notes and produce daily reports, when needed
  • Assist in the coordination and maintenance of equipment required for the project
  • Assist in coordinating, directing, and scheduling the work by subcontractors
  • Enforce all Federal, State, and Company safety rules
  • Ensure all required permitting including JSA's, risk assessments and LOTO are in place before any jobs requiring these commence
  • Conduct site safety and planning meetings
  • Participate in Near Miss reporting
  • Ensures compliance with Manson’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct
  • Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment
Qualifications:
  • 5 to 10 years welding experience, marine experience preferred
  • Experience with proper welding techniques, arc gouging, gas welding and cutting, pipe fitting and fabrications
  • Ability to work with standard welding and cutting tools such as (but not limited to) Flux Core, Stick and Mig Welding, acetylene/oxygen, plasma
  • Must have experience welding all types of metal(s) including, hard or soft steel, stainless steel, and aluminum and be able to fabricate and fit metal components of various sizes and shapes
  • Able to communicate well as part of a small team, and work cooperatively with other colleagues
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Professionally certified with Flux Core, Stick, and Mig Welding required
  • AWS Accredited Certified Welder Certification required
  • Valid picture identification is required
  • Valid Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) or eligibility is a requirement of this position
Job Location:

This position is out of Houma, LA. Must be able to work 8 to 12 hour shifts on all types of vessels or marine construction projects working an offshore rotation of 28 days on and 14 days off unless otherwise changed.
