AMS is hiring pipe fitters to lay out, fabricate, and install marine pipe systems in the Houma, Louisiana shipbuilding corridor. Drawing-literate fit-up work alongside our pipe welders.
Responsibilities- Lay out, cut, thread, and fabricate marine pipe systems from iso and spool drawings
- Set flanges, valves, and hangers and prep joints for the welders
- Take precise measurements and adapt fit-up to shipboard conditions
- Support pipe and structural projects across the Houma and Larose / Galliano yards
- Work side by side with AMS pipe welders on new construction and repair
- Proven marine pipe fit-up: iso/spool drawing literacy, layout, and precise measurement
- 5+ years of shipyard or marine pipe fitting experience preferred
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Valid TWIC card, or the ability to obtain one for yard access
- Able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and respirator fit test
- Travel pay and per-diem when the job is out of your area
- Hotel covered on select contracts
- Paid weekly
- Overtime available
