Looking for Materials Specialist jobs in Houma where every day keeps products moving? This opportunity lets you support warehouse operations through picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory handling while helping ensure orders are completed safely and accurately.

The Materials Specialist is responsible for receiving, inventorying, storing, and shipping aircraft parts and materials. This role supports daily logistics operations, maintains accurate inventory records, processes shipping documentation, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

This opportunity is based on a Warehouse Associate career path and is being offered by Staffmark to qualified candidates.

Job Duties

• Receive, store, and track aircraft parts and materials while maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, process documentation, support logistics operations, and ensure materials are handled safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous warehouse, logistics, or distribution training is beneficial.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Additional training in logistics, inventory control, warehousing, or aviation-related fields is a plus.

Experience Requirements

• Ability to safely perform warehouse duties including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory handling.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately identify products, labels, and shipping documentation.
• Ability to use pallet jacks, hand trucks, RF scanners, or other warehouse equipment as required.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in fast-paced warehouse environments.
• Commitment to workplace safety, teamwork, and dependable attendance.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Warehouse experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, distribution center, fulfillment, manufacturing, or logistics experience is preferred.
• Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial equipment is beneficial.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory procedures, shipping software, or RF scanning equipment is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate reliability, adaptability, teamwork, and attention to detail are well positioned for success as a Materials Specialist.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  Previous warehouse or inventory experience, shipping/receiving knowledge, strong organizational skills, and experience with logistics or materials operations.
• Aviation and hazardous materials experience are a plus.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive warehouse tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely work around warehouse equipment, conveyors, and moving inventory.
• Ability to maintain productivity while working in warehouse and distribution environments.
