A career without limits

As the nation’s flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It’s something we’ve been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world’s first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.

The role:

Executive Assistant to the CTO

This is a high-profile role at the centre of our Engineering and Maintenance directorate, supporting the CTO and wider Leadership Team. It’s all about keeping things running efficiently, connecting priorities and making sure the right things happen at the right time. Based at the heart of the engineering and maintenance operation, the office location has never been so exciting, and you will be in no doubt of the importance of the role engineering and maintenance plays in British Airways.

Working in a fast-paced, and operational environment at the end of Heathrow runway, this role offers real variety and visibility. From supporting key moments in the business to helping teams stay aligned, the impact is wide-reaching—and no two days look the same!

What You'll Do
  • Keep the CTO’s office running seamlessly, bringing structure and clarity across competing priorities.
  • Manage busy schedules, coordinating meetings and events for the CTO and Leadership Team.
  • Bring people together across the Leadership Team, helping create joined-up thinking.
  • Work with Internal Communications to deliver a clear and consistent programme of directorate updates, aligned with wider business messages.
  • Plan and deliver virtual and in-person events, from team sessions to larger forums.
  • Track compliance activities and key achievements across the directorate, keeping everything on course.

Prepare and submit reports as needed, with strong attention to detail.
  • Support and occasionally lead projects, helping drive activity forward.
  • Provide clear and accurate minute taking and note capture.
  • Continuously look for ways to simplify and improve processes, including opportunities to automate.
  • Work closely with key business partners to ensure aligned and coordinated delivery.
What You’ll Bring To British Airways

Highly organised with a natural instinct for planning and prioritising, even when things move quickly. Comfortable working across teams, with a good grasp of how processes and systems fit together.

Calm under pressure and able to adapt when plans change. Discretion is essential—this role handles sensitive information and supports senior stakeholders, so trust and sound judgement matter.

A clear communicator who can adjust style depending on the situation, and who can distil information into simple, useful messages. Proactive, practical and focused on getting things done.

Confident using Microsoft tools including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams, and comfortable working with senior stakeholders at Director and Management Committee level.

Your Experience
  • Strong track record of working effectively with colleagues and/or customers.
  • Able to juggle priorities and respond flexibly when things change.
  • Known for solving problems and navigating processes with confidence.
  • Experience delivering outcomes in a large or complex organisation.
  • Previous experience as an Executive Assistant or in a similar role supporting senior leaders.
What We Offer

We believe that all the people who work with us should feel valued for the part they play. It’s one of the reasons our rewards go far beyond a competitive salary.

  • From the day you join us, you’ll get access to brilliant staff travel benefits including unlimited basic and premium standby tickets on British Airways flights.
  • You’ll also receive up to 30 discounted ‘Hotline’…
