Electrical Site Manager
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to lead and manage electrical installations on a major commercial construction project. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong leadership skills and a proven track record of delivering electrical packages safely, on time, and within budget.
The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating site operations, managing labour and subcontractors, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety requirements.
Electrical Site Manager Key Responsibilities
- Manage all electrical activities on a commercial construction project from installation through to commissioning and handover.
- Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and programme requirements.
- Monitor labour resources, productivity, and site progress.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality assurance checks.
- Manage and enforce health and safety standards across all electrical works.
- Attend client, contractor, and progress meetings.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, design teams, and other trades.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction programmes.
- Identify and resolve technical and operational issues efficiently.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate site documentation.
- Support commissioning, testing, snagging, and project handover activities.
Electrical Site Manager Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Site Manager on commercial construction projects.
- Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
- ECS/JIB Gold Card or relevant electrical accreditation.
- SMSTS certification.
- Strong understanding of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
- Demonstrable experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and project delivery.
