Overview
We are looking for SEN Learning Support Assistants to work at our Special Needs Schools in and around Hounslow. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of students with special educational needs, supporting their academic and personal development within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our students receive the individualised attention and support they require to thrive. Working closely with classroom teachers and the wider pastoral team, you will provide tailored assistance to students with a variety of additional needs, including physical, cognitive, and behavioural challenges. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, delivering one-to-one or small-group interventions, adapting lesson materials, and implementing behaviour management strategies to create a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be liaising regularly with students, parents/guardians, and teaching staff. A warm, patient, and empathetic nature is crucial, as you support our students in overcoming obstacles and developing their confidence and independence. Additionally, you should possess a strong understanding of SEN teaching methodologies and a keen desire to further your professional development in this field.
SalarySalary per day: £88.92 - £100 PAYE - no hidden fee's
Responsibilities- Provide one-to-one or small-group support to students with special educational needs
- Assist in the adaptation of lesson materials and resources to meet individual student needs
- Implement behaviour management strategies to create a positive and productive learning environment
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and the wider pastoral team to ensure a cohesive approach to student support
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents/guardians
- Participate in the planning and delivery of targeted interventions and extracurricular activities
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance your SEN teaching expertise
- Relevant qualification in teaching, learning support, or a related field
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs
- Strong understanding of SEN teaching methodologies and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for inclusive education
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development
