Play Therapy Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Opportunity | Cranford, Hounslow

Location: Cranford, Hounslow
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (Initially until December)

A welcoming primary school in the Cranford area of Hounslow is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Play Therapy Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about therapeutic support and enjoys helping children develop confidence, emotional resilience, and positive engagement with learning.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience in:

  • Lego Therapy
  • ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant)
  • Sand Tray Therapy
  • Puppetry-Based Interventions
  • Expressive Arts
  • Music Therapy Activities
  • Clay Play and Creative Therapeutic Approaches
Key Responsibilities
  • Providing therapeutic support to pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis
  • Supporting emotional regulation, communication, and wellbeing
  • Working closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals
  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment

  • Previous experience working with children in education, care, or therapeutic settings

  • A genuine commitment to supporting children with additional needs
