These pupils require a high level of support to successfully access learning within a mainstream environment. The successful candidate will work alongside support staff within a dedicated intervention space and will play a key role in delivering targeted support, implementing interventions and promoting positive outcomes for pupils with complex needs. Main Duties and Responsibilities Lead and coordinate provision for a small group of Year 1 pupils with significant SEND needs.
Deliver high-quality interventions focused on speech and language, social communication, emotional regulation and early learning skills. Work alongside support staff to ensure consistent and effective provision. Adapt and implement learning activities using existing plans and guidance from senior leaders. Prepare, organise and maintain resources to support intervention programmes and personalised learning. Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to assessment and review processes.
Liaise effectively with the Senior Leadership Team, SENDCO, Reception and Year 1 staff to ensure a joined-up approach to support. Develop positive and professional relationships with parents and carers. Promote inclusion, independence and positive learning behaviours. Contribute to meetings, reviews and planning discussions relating to pupil progress and provision. Uphold the school's commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and pupil wellbeing. About You We are looking for an experienced and passionate practitioner who:
Has significant experience supporting young children with SEND. Has expertise in supporting pupils with speech and language needs and social communication difficulties. Demonstrates a strong commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for children with additional needs. Has experience delivering targeted interventions and adapting provision to meet individual needs. Is organised, proactive and able to manage resources and learning environments effectively.
