Position Overview:

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced SEN team to support students with a range of learning needs. From providing one‑on‑one assistance to adapting learning materials, your role will be pivotal in ensuring that every student receives the tailored support they require to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to implement individualised learning plans for students with SEN.
  • Provide direct support to students inside and outside the classroom, including assistance with classroom activities, homework, and personal care tasks as needed.
  • Adapt and modify learning materials to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
  • Assist with the implementation of behaviour management strategies and interventions.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN education.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education or a STEM or humanities subject.
  • Genuine passion for working with children and young people, especially those with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when faced with challenges.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with SEN is desirable but not essential.
