• Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges
• Complex learning and physical needs

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a vital role in supporting students’ educational, social, and personal development. This is more than a job — it’s a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with unique abilities and challenges.

• Classroom Support – Work closely with the class teacher to deliver personalised learning programmes that meet individual needs.
• One-to-One or Small Group Support – Provide targeted assistance to help students engage and progress.
• Personal Care – Offer respectful and sensitive support with feeding, toileting, and hygiene where required.
• Behavioural Support – Implement positive behaviour management strategies to help students develop emotional resilience and self-regulation.
• Communication Support – Use tools such as Makaton, PECS, or AAC devices to help students express themselves and interact with others.
• Resource Preparation – Adapt and create engaging learning materials and use specialist equipment where appropriate.
• Progress Monitoring – Record and report on student progress, contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and working with teachers to adjust strategies.
• Therapy Assistance – Support therapeutic programmes (e.g., speech and language, occupational therapy) under professional guidance.
• School Activities – Ensure safety and engagement during school trips, therapy sessions, and extracurricular activities.
• Team Collaboration – Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a holistic and inclusive learning environment.
