Service Engineer

Location: Hanworth

As a Switchgear Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, testing and fault-finding of LV and HV switch gear and associated power distribution equipment. The role is primarily site-based, combining hands-on technical work with direct customer interaction.

This position suits an engineer with a strong electrical background, confident working on live environments where downtime must be minimised and safety is essential.

Job Responsibilities:

* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on LV and HV switch gear, including switchboards, distribution boards, breakers and protection devices.

* Diagnose and rectify electrical faults on power distribution systems in operational environments.

* Perform inspection, testing and verification of electrical installations in accordance with relevant standards and site procedures.
   Support commissioning activities for new or modified LV and HV switch gear installations.

* Assist with testing and verification of electrical interfaces to power monitoring, metering and control systems.

Experience required:

* Strong background in electrical engineering with proven experience working on LV and HV switch gear.

* Hands-on experience with LV and HV switchboards, circuit breakers, protection relays and power distribution equipment.

* Ability to safely carry out fault-finding, maintenance and testing on electrical systems.

* Relevant electrical qualifications (for example NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds, HNC or equivalent).

* Basic awareness of power monitoring, metering, instrumentation or control panels is advantageous
