About the role
We are looking for a Technical Support Specialist to provide expert guidance and support on UK electric bus projects. The role involves assessing technical and market requirements, preparing documentation, liaising with project partners, supporting project management activities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and technical standards. The position is office-based but will require travel across the UK, occasional travel in Europe, and some trips to China.
Work location:Hounslow, London (travelling is required) Your key responsibilities will be:
- Ensuring technical objectives are met
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Management of project costs
- Liaison with external parties including partner companies and funding providers such as Innovate UK
- Project timing
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in electrical, mechanical or automotive engineering, or a related discipline
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, requiring minimum supervision
- At least 4 years’ experience of engineering project management
- At least 8 years’ experience working in an automotive design / development environment or fleet vehicle operations, ideally buses
- Experience of compliance with standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 26262, IATF 16949
- Good understanding of UK vehicle legislation for M3 category vehicles
- Understanding of FMEA and hazard analysis procedures
- Computer knowledge and proficiency, including MS Office and MS Project
