Community Nursery Nurse (Band
4) Health Visiting Team – Hounslow

Due to changes in service delivery, there is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced & innovative Community Nursery Nurse to join our new dedicated Health Visitor Line team. You will be closely working in our friendly, supportive 0-19 team in West London. This role is designed to improve access to health promoting information for families and streamline referrals into the HV service.

We work with families in one of the most diverse boroughs in London to give children the best possible start in life by providing the most up-to-date evidence based support.

As part of our skill mix team, you will contribute to the delivery of the national 0-5 years Healthy Child programme across Hounslow, working closely with partners, such as GPs, children’s centres and social care, providing seamless care to the population of Hounslow. You’ll also have an important role helping to recognise and protect vulnerable children.

Main duties of the job

This role will be working closely with families in the borough accessing evidence based health advice including :

  • Coping with a crying baby
  • Promoting healthy sleep patterns
  • Infant feeding including breastfeeding
  • Growth and your baby
  • What to do if your child is unwell
  • Introducing family foods and solids
  • Behaviour and understanding your baby / child
  • Immunisations
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • Speech and communication

The role will also include liaising with multi-agencies including Social Care, GPs, Early years and Family Hub colleagues.
