Through GEA’s global dealer network, we provide a full-service offering, including industry-leading hygiene products and chemicals that promote udder health and superior milk quality.
You will be working hands-on with advanced dairy systems, supporting farmers with essential equipment that keeps their operations running smoothly. Your day will typically involve visiting farms and customer sites between 08:15 – 17:00, with time spent in the Honiton office when not on-site.
Role: Dairy Equipment Technician
Responsibilities- Technical Service & Maintenance:
Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on Automatic (AMS) and Conventional Milking Systems (CMS); perform repairs, servicing, upgrades, and installations. - Slurry Equipment Support:
Maintain and install slurry handling and manure management systems. - On-Call Support:
Take part in a rota providing out-of-hours technical support across your region. - Documentation & Reporting:
Complete service reports, record parts usage, and track time accurately. - Quality, Safety & Compliance (QSHE):
Follow and promote best practices in safety, quality, and environmental standards. - Customer Service & Business Growth:
Represent Venture Dairy Services professionally and build strong relationships with customers.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Comfortable using MS Office
- Experience as a Dairy Technician (desirable) or a background in electrical/mechanical engineering
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults
- Full UK Category B driving licence (endorsements must be declared)
- Willingness to travel across the Southwest (and occasionally to the Channel Islands)
- Comfortable working outdoors, in all weather conditions and farm environments
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Safety-conscious with a proactive mindset
- Appreciation for animal welfare and modern farming practices
