About

The Role This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Multi Agency Child Protection Team as a Team Manager. PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To lead and manage the Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT), ensuring that children who are subject to statutory child protection enquiries and investigations receive a high-quality, timely and effective multi-agency response that safeguards them and improves outcomes for them and their families.

To ensure MACPT operates in line with the expectations of the Families First Partnership programme, including a seamless system of help, support and protection, strong multi-agency decision-making, clear interfaces with Family Help and the front door, and effective oversight of statutory child protection work.

To provide strong practice leadership, management oversight and reflective supervision to six Lead Child Protection Practitioners.

To establish effective working relationships with the MACPT multi-agency practitioners within the team, including health and education navigators and the police liaison role.

To promote and govern excellent child protection practice, ensuring timely strategy discussions, effective section 47 enquiries, robust planning and review, purposeful direct work with children and families, and clear risk management in partnership with key agencies.

To build and sustain effective strategic and operational partnerships with police, health, education, legal services and other relevant agencies so that child protection responses are coordinated, evidence-informed and focused on the child’s lived experience.

To ensure high standards of performance, quality assurance, recording, information sharing and compliance, and to contribute to service development, inspection readiness and continuous improvement across Family Help and Protection.

To assist and support the Head of Service in delivering excellent child protection practice through the effective management of a complex, multi-disciplinary team operating within statutory and local safeguarding frameworks.

To ensure services are provided within set budgets and provide value for money.
