The Senior Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing vendor invoices, performing 3‑way matching, preparing payroll vouchers, and ensuring accurate coding and documentation in line with company policies. The role supports monthly closings, audits, and inventory activities while coordinating with internal teams and vendors to resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications Required- At least three (3) years of accounts payable experience, performing 3‑way matching
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate in English at an intermediate level in a business environment
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Office, Outlook & Excel)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Accurate processing of alphanumeric information
- Strong organization and time‑management skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi‑task, and work independently with limited supervision
- Strong working relationships with vendors and fellow employees
- Logical thinking, following procedures, making sound decisions
- Independent judgment within established systems and procedures
- Problem‑solving and data analysis skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours, extended hours, holidays and/or weekends as necessary
- Perform 3‑way match of PO’s, POD and invoice
- Code and enter approved A/P invoices in the accounts payable system for review and payment
- File A/P vouchers
- Assist vendor and company staff with reviews and investigations of statements, PO’s, invoices, etc.
- Ensure supporting documentation is accurate and complete
- Maintain data accuracy on accounts
- Follow internal controls and department procedures
- Coordinate vendor invoice approvals with relevant departments
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure safety awareness
- Assist in monthly closings and special projects as required
- Assist with accounts payable reports and file maintenance
- Support auditors when required
- Perform physical inventories indoor and outdoor
- Support AR, rebates, vendor refunds, credits as needed
- Perform other related tasks as assigned
- May be required to use hands for finger, handle, or feel tasks
- Must talk and/or hear frequently
- Must sit continuously; occasionally stand, walk, climb or balance
- May lift up to 20 pounds
- Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment
- Report safety hazards
- Report incidents involving injury, illness or property damage immediately
- Wear protective PPE as instructed or necessary
- Comply with all company safety policies, procedures and rules
- Refuse unsafe tasks or operations
- Participate in safety meetings and training
- Aware of personal safety and that of coworkers
- Indoors office with occasional outdoor duties; exposure to varying environmental conditions
- Noise level usually low to moderate
