Energy Transfer is looking for an Associate Accountant to join our Interstate Revenue accounting team in Houston Texas. We encourage a culture of inquiry by always asking why, transforming data into meaningful information, and leveraging technology to streamline our processes.

Team Summary Performs accounting related responsibilities for the interstate/intrastate accounting group.

• Compilation of SOX control documentation and development of related procedures
• Monthly submissions of volumetric data to Government agencies
• Record monthly entries for financial statements
• Prepare analysis of natural gas inventories and transportation and storage revenues
• Analysis of operational gas purchases, sales and payments of contract storage agreements and/or operational gas purchased/sold
• Reconciliation of accounts
• Reconciliation of various accounts and be able to prepare and provide variance explanations

Utilizes skills gained from classes/exposure for AI capabilities.

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Education:
  
  Bachelors degree in Accounting, finance or related field
• Experience:
  
  0-2 years of relevant work experience
• Required Skills:
  
  Microsoft office products – proficient in Excel.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  SAP knowledge is preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Flexibility with ability to work in a team setting supporting several people.
  • Solid time management skills; ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and function independently and efficiently in a fast paced environment.

The associate specialist/analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant job related experience.

The specialist/analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience.

• Usually, normal office working conditions.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.
• Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
