ABOUTTHE ROLE
The Assistant Controller plays a critical role within Our Client’s Accounting and Finance team, supporting accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational excellence. This position requires strong full‑cycle accounting knowledge, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to lead and develop accounting staff while meeting internal deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead and manage the month‑end close process
- Prepare standard, recurring, and complex journal entries including accruals, prepaids, and intercompany transactions
- Prepare and perform preliminary reviews of balance sheet reconciliations
- Track close progress and elevate delays as needed
- Ensure journal entries are properly supported and audit‑ready
- Identify internal control gaps and elevate findings to the Controller
- Prepare quarterly external reports to support VAT accuracy
- Oversee daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Fixed Assets, and Cash posting
- Perform accounting operational duties when required under extraordinary circumstances
- Collaborate with the Controller on process improvements and implementation of changes
- Ensure correct and consistent general ledger coding and sufficient posting descriptions
- Provide guidance, support, and professional development to accounting staff
- Monitor bank balances to ensure sufficient fund availability
- Review and resolve ACH and check positive pay exceptions
- Support audits and field examinations by providing journal entry populations, schedules, reconciliations, roll forwards, and explanations
- Ensure audit selections are fully supported and reviewer comments are addressed
- Perform monthly petty cash and change fund audits and report findings as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Three or more years of supervisory and or management experience preferred
- Required experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Inventory accounting experience preferred

- Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail
- Professional maturity when interacting with colleagues, customers, vendors, and third‑party professionals
- Independently motivated with the ability to manage responsibilities with minimal supervision
