Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled CPA Paralegal to join our Financial Services and Capital Markets (FSCM) business unit. The candidate will bring expertise in accounting, trust administration, and tax returns, and will work closely with attorneys and clients to manage estate and trust matters. The role is located in a virtual office, The Link, or any Husch Blackwell location.
Responsibilities- Prepare estate and fiduciary income tax returns, including Estate Tax Returns.
- Maintain and audit trust accounting records, reconcile general ledger accounts and broker statements, and manage payables and bank deposits.
- Obtain, reconcile, and file 1099 and K‑1 statements.
- Fund and administer irrevocable trusts (post‑death).
- Provide expert accounting guidance to team members and supervise related tasks.
- Maintain close client and financial advisor relationships.
- Meet annual billable hour requirement of 1,600 hours.
- Develop proficiency in database and electronic file management.
- Organize, manage, and delegate files to business professionals as needed.
- Ensure high quality, detail‑oriented work.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- CPA certification and license required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of tax and trust accounting, including tax return preparation and trust funding.
- Proven experience managing client case files in a fast‑paced environment.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong time‑management and prioritization abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tax/trust accounting software.
- Experience with document database programs.
- Ability to interact professionally and provide outstanding service to all customers.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and quality of work.
Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The expected compensation ranges for this position by state are:
- California: $86,000 – $139,000
- Colorado: $75,000 – $119,000
- Illinois: $64,000 – $125,000
- Maryland: $73,000 – $107,000
- Massachusetts: $85,000 – $130,000
- Minnesota: $75,000 – $111,000
- New Jersey: $78,000 – $114,000
- New York: $66,000 – $125,000
- Washington: $88,000 – $134,000
- Washington, D.C.: $94,000 – $138,000
