We are looking for an Associate covering Financial Reporting & Accounting to join a growing accounting team in Houston. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting, this role offers exposure to SEC-level reporting, technical accounting, and special projects such as M&A, making it a great next step for professionals with public accounting or financial reporting experience.

• Assist in preparation of consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules
• Support technical accounting areas, including derivatives, debt transactions, hedging, and business combinations
• Maintain compliance with SOX controls and assist with regulatory reporting requirements
• Perform general ledger processing, journal entries, and reconciliations for assigned projects
• Prepare compliance certificates and other regulatory submissions for newly developed projects
• Assist with special projects such as mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures
• Maintain and update accounting policy documentation as needed
• Contribute to financial reporting process improvements and system implementations

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required;
  Master’s or CPA preferred
• Background in public accounting or financial reporting strongly preferred
• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Workiva, One Stream, or Microsoft Dynamics a plus
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet close deadlines
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
