Staff Accountant

Clayton Services is searching for a Staff Accountant to join a thriving company in Houston, Texas. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the accounting department with daily financial operations, monthly closings, reconciliations, and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $70,000-$75,000/year

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

• Perform journal entries accurately and in a timely manner to support the monthly and year-end close.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts for multiple entities on a regular basis.
• Validate, record, and recognize all revenue-related activities each week.
• Manage daily banking activities, including wires, ACH transactions, and internal account transfers.
• Prepare and process weekly commission payments.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of state taxes.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to improve processes and financial accuracy.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with cloud-based accounting systems;
  Net Suite preferred.

Staff Accountant Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 1 3 years of relevant accounting experience required.
