Construction Accountant

Position Summary:

The Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting for multiple construction projects. This role involves handling accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, payroll support, tax filings, and compliance reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Track job costs, project budgets, and support project managers with cost reports

• Process invoices, purchase orders, subcontractor payments, and change orders

• Maintain accurate financial records for multiple construction projects

• Assist with payroll processing and verifying labor hours

• Prepare and file tax documents, compliance reports, and support annual audits Monitor cash flow, reconcile bank accounts, and maintain financial controls

• Support procurement and subcontractor onboarding with required documentation

• Provide financial analysis to assist with estimating, forecasting, and project planning

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 3-5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within the construction industry

• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reports, and percentage-of-completion accounting

• Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Procore, Quick Books, Viewpoint, or similar)

• Proficiency in Excel and other financial reporting tools

• Solid knowledge of GAAP and construction-related compliance requirements

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
