This is a highly visible finance leadership role for an asset‑intensive business operating across the energy and renewables landscape, with continued growth and M&A activity ahead.
About the OpportunityThe Group Controller will serve as the senior accounting leader responsible for owning the day‑to‑day execution, accuracy, and scalability of the company’s accounting function. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will oversee global accounting operations across U.S. and European entities while managing and developing a team of Controllers and Staff Accountants.
This is a hands‑on leadership role suited for someone who thrives in fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environments and is comfortable operating both strategically and in the details as the platform continues to scale.
Responsibilities- Ownership of the monthly close, consolidation, and financial reporting process across global entities
- Oversight and development of a team of 3 Controllers and additional accounting staff
- Hands‑on leadership of audits, lender reporting, and compliance requirements
- Execution of M&A accounting activities, including purchase accounting and post‑acquisition integrations
- Partnering closely with the CFO on reporting, controls, and financial discipline
- Ensuring consistent accounting policies, processes, and controls across U.S. and EU operations
- Continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, and close timelines to support growth
- 12+ years of progressive accounting experience; startup or high‑growth environment strongly preferred
- Proven global accounting experience, including oversight of U.S. and European operations
- Prior accounting leadership experience with direct people management responsibility
- Must be comfortable in a highly hands‑on role, owning execution as well as oversight
- Strong experience with:
- Monthly close and consolidation
- Audits and lender reporting
- M&A integrations and purchase accounting
- Industry experience within energy, renewables, infrastructure, or other asset‑intensive sectors preferred
- CPA required
